Andrea Mitchell is the Assistant Director for ImagingNMD and has over 20 years of experience in academic, preclinical and clinical research. She co-directs the clinical trial imaging network in support of Phase I-III clinical trials in multiple neuromuscular diseases.
After earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a PhD in Comparative Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Mitchell worked for 10 years at a Contract Research Organization directing preclinical studies for early drug development before relocating to the University of Florida to pursue clinical research. She joined ImagingNMD in 2017 and is responsible for training and certification of selected imaging sites for clinical trials as well as overseeing monitoring of ongoing trials and closeouts. The ever-expanding ImagingNMD network currently enlists ~30 imaging facilities across the United States, Canada and Europe. Dr. Mitchell serves as the primary liaison with Sponsors and CROs.
